Week 3, Book #3: The Message in the Midst

after creating that box book last week, i have fallen in love with the idea of a book as a vessel in which all manner of messages, text, and content can be not only stored but crafted. the book as vessel gives me cause to see everything in my home as potential book covers and possible text. everything in my home is now subject to being transformed anew. i can feel my plants starting to cower in their pots.

this week, however, i'm preoccupied with less animate objects. like this heart thingy that's lived on my art supply shelf for years. i think my husband or one of my sons gave it to me for Valentine's Day a while ago--with candy inside, no doubt.  the sweets are all gone, but i kept the vessel because it always felt like it should be something more than a VD product. made of hard, smooth plastic with a metalic red sheen on the outside, it was surely destined for multiple uses. and so its day has come to be transformed anew.

i want to title this book The Message in the Midst. it's a metaphor for our heart energy center and all the messages of truth, love, peace, joy, passion, good, life and wisdom that abide within, at the core of our Being. and like this book, all we ever have to do is open that core and allow what is there to feed our soul, nourish our Spirit, heal and love somebody. here's a look at how it looks.
